Another Macho from YAMAHA - FZ16

Hi,

YAMAHA all set to rock again in Indian Market after the success of R15 with his new FZ16.

After the revolutionary YZF-R15 launched earlier this year, it's the turn of the eagerly awaited FZ-16. Contrary to speculation, it is not FZ-15, FZ150 or Fazer-15.

Macho, Muscular are the sort of adjectives that come into your mind and this is exactly what Yamaha had in mind when they were styling this one. The bike gets its looks from the global FZ series known for awesome looks and tremendous power.

Each and every part of FZ16 has been designed with a lot of detailed attention and careful thought. This ultimate degree of perfection means even the slightest feature has not been overlooked. Only Yamaha ensures this kind of craftsmanship.

The rider and the machine share a feeling of oneness, and from different angles the impression is different. This is particularly because the finest components have been used in its precise manufacturing.

The FZ16 possesses both a rough and brutish expression as well as a certain subtlety. This high quality masterpiece will without doubt become a rage for the next generation.

Everything about this bike is big, the wide tyres, the huge tank, the beefy forks. Viewed side on it looks like a well built athelete on the start line flexing its muscles, waiting to smash all the records.

The mini-Fazer features state of the art – YTPS (Yamaha Throttle Position Sensor), for better throttle response and fuel efficiency and will be loaded with a fully digital console with digital readout for RPM, Speed, Trip and Odo.

Main Styling Elements of FZ-16:

  • Big center mass
  • Tough looking front forks
  • Tough looking chassis
  • Mid-ship stubby silencer
  • Super wide tyres
  • Rugged shaped body parts

The stylish yet innovative FZ-16 has macho and muscular looks redefining the 150cc bikes segment. It keeps it simple, with street-tough naked styling and super-civilized power delivery and a specially designed riding position that gives riders extra confidence at lower speeds.

The Yamaha FZ-16 is an urban-cool motorcycle built for great performance and easy-living functionality, because that’s the whole idea of a bike like this. It has got heart-pumping knockout performance and it’s got serious attitude on top of that, a lean and mean look that’s all about raw power.

It keeps it simple, with street-tough naked styling and super-civilized power delivery and a specially designed riding position that gives riders extra confidence at lower speeds.

The meters on the FZ16 are installed in a Full Liquid Crystal Display. The speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and other indicators are set in optimum position to keep the field of vision clear. Also, the engine starting signal is an example of the spirit of innovation.

The steel fuel tank with a plastic resin outer cover takes advantage of the freedom of shaping that plastic provides, giving the tank cover a powerful shape with modulations suggestive of the muscular body of an athlete.

To give a sense of volume to the machine, an external diameter of 35mm is adopted in a two-layer type exhaust to minimize the effect of heat on the pipe. The layout features a large-volume primary character on the underside of the crankcase. The muffler is an irregular shaped tapered type mid-ship muffler.

A Monocross rear suspension unit provides 120 mm of wheel travel, while optimized oil and damping valve specs help ensure agile running performance and handling. It inhibits bottoming while riding with a tandem passenger as well as providing a very comfortable ride.

Unlike the Yamaha R15, the Yamaha FZ-16 is a macho street fighter. The bike gets its looks from the global FZ series known for awesome looks and tremendous power.

The petrol tank, silensor, the yellow-gold plated rear shock absorber and fat tyres give enough clues to the true strength of the Yamaha FZ 16 motorcycle - torque that is a bit higher than the 160 Apache RTR and tuned for acceleration and mid-range than outright top speed.

Unlike the YZF R15, the Yamaha FZ16 motorcycle is more a city bike, tuned for aggressive city riding than for pure top speed.

The commerical launch will happen in the festive season of October after which the bike will go on sale throughout the country.

FZ 16 gets its DNA from global FZ’s series of Yamaha motorcycles. Fat tyre at the rear, beefy tank, beefy front fork compliment the FZ 16’s muscular character, which is all set to become a huge hit among the young crowd in India.

The deliveries will commence by Oct. 2008. The FZ-16 is estimated to cost around Rs. 70,000 ex-showroom. It is be available in three colours - Lava Red, Midnight Black and Flaming Orange.

The bike is expected to shake the entire two-wheeler segment market in the country by luring all youngsters to the showrooms. It is expected that the other majors such as the Apaches, Pulsars and the Hunks would see tough competition when the bike arrives this October.

While inheriting the quality of the famous brand, the FZ16 was also born to revolutionize the era and carry out a mission. Its appearance more than any other, overflows with dynamism and originality.

The running performance is brimming with thrust that overpowers all others. This quality solely belongs to Yamaha’s advanced technologies. The FZ16 takes attention away from others on the road as it makes its personality felt.

Lord of the Streets - FZ16 - You will be drawn to this machine that in the next era will become the king of the streets.

"LORD MAKES NEW RULES"

The rider’s will is spread to the handle, the body and then the engine giving birth to unprecedented torque. This force is truly dynamic. Due to minute calculations and overcoming major challenges, an ultimate body balance has been produced.

The agile running performance is extremely exciting. The superior performance brings riding feel, which when you ride provides you an emotional high.

Thus this is unique not only for the rider but also a source of great fascination to the onlooker. With the FZ16 you have the sensation of ruling the streets to your heart’s content.

"LORD TAKES OVER"

Each and every part of FZ16 has been designed with a lot of detailed attention and careful thought. This ultimate degree of perfection means even the slightest feature has not been overlooked. Only Yamaha ensures this kind of craftsmanship.

The rider and the machine share a feeling of oneness, and from different angles the impression is different. This is particularly because the finest components have been used in its precise manufacturing.

The FZ16 possesses both a rough and brutish expression as well as a certain subtlety. This high quality masterpiece will without doubt become a rage for the next generation.

My Exp in US Consulate and my stay in the North

Hi,

As i told in my previous blog, i will share my exp that i had in de US consulate and my first time visit to northern side of India and tat too to the capital of India.

For so many reasons, to start with travel in air and de exp in US consulate and finally to the stay in de North even though  it was just one night stay it was all pretty new exp.

I landed in delhi to my dismay an hr later than schedule time due to busy traffic in air in delhi. :)
I booked the cab earlier day itself for pickup from airport to the guest house in Noida. Luckily the cab driver did waited 4 me for more than an hr and he was holding a board with my name. Then i got into the cab and i travelled to my guest house in Noida. To my luck the cab driver did manage to speak and understand the English as it was not the case with one of my colleague who had a torrid time with the another cab driver, when he went there for the same purpose. I finally reached the guest house around 7 PM and i ordered the food in the guest house itself. To my disgust for the dinner i had to spend more than 100 bugs just for few rotties and rice. I thought i could anyhow get the reimbursement from the comp. But still waiting to receive the amt tat i claimed  :)   I didn't feel like eating it by even looking at it. Taken lightly just for the sake of it. Went bac to room and was thinking all night abt wat will happen next day in de US consulate. Felt asleep and got bac early enough to get ready for the challenge and again to my disgust i asked for the cab driver to come around 6:45 for my interview schedule @ 8:15.  But the guy came around 7:30 to pick me up. I felt little nervous as i thought i could not be on time. Faced several challenges to convey to the guest house ppl reg delay in the cab due to the language barrier tat i had. Felt very bad not to have known de national language. I feel most ppl from TN state will face de pblm intially to start with if they visit north. The cab driver did drive fast and i was  there on time

Had the security check up done at the entrants and i waited in the long que thinking and hoping tat i will get thro de interview. Had the doc checked up in the que itself and handed over all the doc to one of the counters along with the HDFC receipt and the lady diverted me to one of the counters inside and i had ten fingers scan been done and then they asked me to stand in que and i was awaiting for my turn to attend the interview. So many things creeps into mind reg wat will happen as i planned so many things reg de future of mine and i did planned accordingly for both de results. There was two panel interviewing and both were ladies one of whom was of US origin and another one look like an Indian origin. I was thinking of which panel i wil be going and as my turn came up i was interviewed by lady who was from US origin.

The interview started and i submitted all my doc and i greeted her with warm smile. She started to enquire and i was able to answer to all the q's been put across to me. I felt like tat i had convinced her and de interview went 4 around 15 min and once all done i waited for her final reply and she carried some entry work and i felt de nervousness expecting positive response from her. After the silence for few min, she did break the silence stating that your visa had been approved and you will get your passport in couple of days. I was jumping in joy and returned bac to de guest house called few frnds and mom and inform them reg my approval of visa. Got my return flight and landed bac to chn, i felt like bac home and de purpose of visit was thus fulfilled. Felt really happy although i may not be showing it explicitly enough to others which is trademark of resemblance of my char.

First Time Exp while travelling in Air!!!

Hi All,

Its been quite a while, infact a long gap after i decided to write about something.

Its all abt de exp. that i had in my first air travel trip from chn to delhi. The purpose of visit was because of my visa schedule been arranged at US Embassy,Delhi on 25th early morning. Travelled from chennai to delhi previous day afternoon on Jet Airways. Would love to travel again in Jet Airways 4 so many reasons. :)

The flight did take off at the right time and few butterflies started flying underneath my belly. Once take off been done i felt it like very similar like travelling on Airbus in NH. But although felt that i was travelling at certain altituide. Enjoyed all de cool stuffs & food been provided. Then came the deciding factor i.e, Landing.  Felt bad while landing more than while taking off. It was so abrupt that u feel the shakeage totally. Prayed the almighty that de breaking had to be so good enough as i could feel the immense amount of breakage pressure been applied while landing. Even felt worst while landing on the return in Indian Airways, as i could feel the initial jump after landing. It was indeed a gr8 1st time exp, tat too @ expence of the company.   :)

Finally the purpose of visit does fulfilled as i got my L1  visa stampede for 3 yrs.

Will update the exp that i had in de US consulate and few hiccups caused because of my linguistic skills in my upcoming blog.

Stay tune...

Person i admire most - After IPL hungama...

Hi,

I thought of writing abt it a long back, but as usual due to hectic work and audit stuff last week couldn't able to write abt it.. But i managed to find a time to write about person tat stood out for his character in IPL hungama...

Many say tat IPL had created sensation in de cricketing history, not only for the money tats been put in but also add to the glamour of all de actor & actresses it had to watch and support de team performing and also new cricketing talent been explored from both de overseas players and Indian county players. New Players tat stood as performer and catched the centre stage are Marsh, Yusuf Pathan, Goni, Dinda, shikhar dawan and few others...

But i found rather a person tat astonishes me 4 his character more than his game... He has such a calm cool temperament, and i feel @ his age its very hard to remain calm when so many things happening around u and ur in de limelight right from de word go. The way he conducted himself in the tense moments of all crunch games which his team managed to won in preliminary phase of de tournament and also his ability to handle big overseas players and given them de comfort zone they wud love to have... Even @ defeat in de final after a nail biting last over finish by rajastan he called the team around to have a hug and cheer e'body...

Tat sums it up all 4 his character...

I have never seen a losing captain calling up his team to hug and cheer each other 4 de effort tat they had putin.. I am watching cricket from around my 5th Std and i haven't seen a captain having such a calming influence over his players...

E'one wud have guessed by it now whom i am writing it about. Its none other than

" MAHENDRA SINGH DHONI"

I truly admire him 4 de character he is been and i wish he has successful run as Indian Captain.
If he can fine tune on his technique to face the moving ball while batting, then i can assure we have a captain who can sustain long just mere 4 his character alone, if no internal politics intervene ...

Watch out 4 YAMAHA R15 !!!

Hi All,

Some tech details abt de most expected bike to be released from YAMAHA in INDIA... - http://yamaha-motor-india.com/index.shtml

Liquid Cooled Engine: As an engine runs, the temperature of the engine also rises. If the temperature of the engine rises too much, then it affects the performance of the engine. Therefore engines have some sort of cooling system for its proper functioning. There are two types of cooling systems for engines. The "air-cooling system", that uses air to cool the engine and the "liquid-cooling system" in which liquid is circulated through a system of passages around the engine to cool the engine much more effectively than "air cooling".The R15 is India's first bike to feature liquid cooling. So far all the bikes manufactured in India have had Air Cooled engines. A liquid cooled engine means that the engine will be capable of higher performance.

4 Valves per cylinder: The R15 will have 4 valves for its single cylinder engine. Can't exactly call it a first for India, because even Bajaj has shown the new 125 cc XCD "Sprint which also has 4 valves. Since engines with 4 valves per cylinder usually produce most of their power at high RPM, we can expect a high revving engine in the R15.

Fuel Injection: This is also a feature that is not a first for India. The 125 cc Hero Honda Glamour "Fi", the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi and the soon to be launched TVS Apache RTR 160 "Fi" already has fuel injection. However, Yamaha in its website says that the R15 will have a Fuel Injection with "6 hole injectors". So far, I have seen that "Fuel Injection" does not quite boost up the Power of a bike by a significant margin but it does improve the response of the engine. So expect good throttle response from the R15.

Forged Piston: The pistons made for most engines are cast pistons, it is made by melting aluminum at high temperatures and pouring it into molds. The other type of piston is this forged type, which is made by forcing aluminum that has been heated to a certain "sub-melting" temperature into a mold under pressure.
Because the aluminum alloy does not reach the melting point in this forged piston production method, it retains a stronger metallurgic quality. For this reason, forged pistons can be made with a thinner, lighter body. But there are difficulties in maintaining precise temperature and other factors in the "forging" process. Due to which such pistons are expensive to produce. In 1997, Yamaha developed a "controlled forging technology" (CF technology) that enabled production of the forged pistons at a lower cost. These pistons are now used on Yamaha's R series supersport models.

DiASil Engine Cylinder: The Engine Cylinder is that part of the engine inside which the Piston moves. Air cooled engines have fins on the cylinder to increase the cooling process.

"DiASil" is an abbreviation for "Die-casting Aluminum-Silicon". In case of the R15 it is an all-aluminum cylinder which uses a 20% silicon aluminum alloy.

Conventional engine cylinders have a steel liner to reduce the friction resulting from the piston's movement. The "DiASil" cylinder is made by the exclusive Yamaha Aluminum Controlled Forging (CF) technology.Because the "DiASil" Cylinder is all aluminum, it has excellent heat dissipation qualities and reduces engine weight at the same time. (Aluminum dissipates heat at 3.1 times the rate of steel.) The DiASil cylinder has 60% better cooling performance at 30% lower manufacturing cost and enables 30% lighter design.

Monoshock rear Suspension: The only motorcycle with a rear monoshock in India is the Honda Unicorn. But the monoshock of the Unicorn is the most basic of monoshock suspensions. The Yamaha R15 has a superior set up called the "Link Type" monoshock suspension.
Read more about Motorcycle Suspensions

"Delta" Frame: The R15 has a frame that is different from the normal single or twin downtube motorcycle frames seen in the present bikes in India. The "Delta Frame" of the R15 also can be found on the R series of Yamaha bikes. Apart from giving the bike the looks of a sports bike, the "Delta Frame" also has an excellent rigidity balance which should give the R15 a very sporty handling characteristic.

6 Gears: And Oh Yes.. the R15 also has 6 gears, a first for India (if you discount the legendary RD350 of course)Front and Rear Disc Brakes: The R1 features disc brakes for both the front and rear.According to Yamaha these features of the Yamaha R15 have been incorporated from the DNA of its high performance racing bikes like the R1. This is not exactly untrue since the R series of bikes from Yamaha actually do feature parts like these.

Watch out all Pulsar Mania guys!!!

Learn to Live up to de Expectation of Oneself First !!!

Hi all,

I feel that in de present scenario where expectation of ppl on an individual keeps on rising right from the childhood of an individual to the expectation of top officials @ de work place. Individual oneslef had to fight for it to keep up the expectation of others and i think its necessary that de person had to keep up the expectation of himself first. Parents expecting a child to top up in de academics and if the child had not performed up to their expectation of the parents, then i have seen the parents comparing with the child friend or any relative and i feel it that being the biggest demotivation for the child. The one thing that i hate the most is the "Comparison" in dis world. I fell that every individual who has born in dis world has unique talent of his own and it is essential that the parents let them allow their child to act accordingly, as they have their dream of their own and parents need to realise that the child is trying hard to meet the expectation of himself/herself.

Its the expectation of one ppl over another led to root cause of all the pblm as one fails to meet up to de expectation of other one and that led to de disappointment. I feel it better to expect least from others. I feel that in de present world which is so competitive, each individual had to set the expectation level high himself and he need to act accordingly to achieve the expected level been set.

"Dont' lower your expectations to meet your performance. Raise your level of performance to meet your expectations. Expect the best of yourself, and then do what is necessary to make it a reality."

My Outing with my MOM....

Hi all,

Last weekend i had a gr8 time... Its been a very long time since i had a outing with my mom... Cant even remember when it happend last time back... It was my cousin who initiated de whole thing... Me, my mom along with my cousin and his wife went 4 de Venki temple @ Tnagar in de morning and had our lunch outside in de Saravan Bhavan hotel. Then we returned back and in de evening we went to Ashtalakshmi Koil near besant nagar beach and then we proceeded to de sea shore.

My mom especially had a gr8 time since its her visit to besant nagar beach and she was very eager to wet her legs in sea waves water and i could see her reactions which was just like a child who enjoys the waves and de nature of beauty... being a gr8 Tamil kavithai writer herself, she enjoyed de scenic beauty of de beaches and de boats which were riding on them. I was very happy to c her enjoying de time @ sea shore as she had rarely visited any scenic beauty places in her life till now as she had spend his major part of life working as a teacher and spent most of her lifetime in my hometown,Kumbakonam.

It was a gr8 feeling 4 me to take my mom for a outing. Thnks to my cousin for his initiation...

Few snapshots in de beaches.....

My Cousin and my MOM....

Me,My Cousin and My Mom...

Any Guess wat i am doing? Good snap by my cousin... Looking gr8... Is tat so.....
